Personal Description:

Now retired, I’m finding a great deal more time to focus on sharing my knowledge and love for the diatonic harmonica.

I learnt the diatonic harmonica via years of one to one tuition as well as utilising online teaching, playing with bands and years of practice.

My first love would be playing the ‘blues’ but I enjoy various music genres.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring for c2 years progressing students from raw beginner through to intermediate. With an abundance of patience and understanding, coupled with a structured syllabus and course materials to cover each topic.

The best way to start your harmonica journey would be to take up my offer of a free first lesson before any commitment.

Tutoring Approach:

Music for me is about the sheer enjoyment it brings. That can be through your practice showing obvious improvements, new skills learnt or the joyful emotion of playing an instrument.

My approach to teaching harmonica is simple:

1) Understand the (instrument) harmonica
2) Master basic techniques
3) Master scales as the gateway to improvisation
4) Expand your repertoire
5) Practice, practice, practice

This approach has worked for me over the years and can work just as well for anyone looking to start playing the diatonic harmonica.
