Personal Description:
Michael BA (Hons), PGCE
I have Qualified Teacher Status as well as the above degree and postgrad qualifications. I teach fretted instruments and melodeon. I teach theory as requested during lessons, in small easy steps. I taught myself to play the melodeon.
Tutoring Experience:
I have over twenty years experience teaching these instruments one-to-one and in small and large groups.
Tutoring Approach:
Every student is different: they learn in their own way and at their own speed. I respond to the wishes of each student and guide them towards their own goals.
At each lesson I assess and suggest how much of what kind of work each student can do before the next lesson. I make sure that they are able and have enough time in their week to fit the work in. I know that a small amount of progress achieved regularly will build not only skills but also confidence.
