Personal Description:
I studied at the Royal Academy of Music and hold a grade 8 in both the piano and trombone. I have extensive experience of teaching brass instruments and the piano, encouraging students of all ages and abilities. I love music and have a passion to pass this love and enjoyment on to all my students. As a performer, I have played for Carleen Anderson (Brand New Heavies), Larrikin Love, Patrick Wolf, These New Puritans and Imperial Leisure. I have performed live on BBC at Glastonbury, T4, The Album Chart Show (Channel 4), The Culture Show (BBC) and have headlined at Ronnie Scotts. I have also recorded for Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group (Polydor).
Tutoring Experience:
As a teacher, I have many years of experience and hold a teaching diploma that was gained during my time at the Royal Academy of Music. I have taken pupils from beginner level (age 4) all the way to successful applications at a music conservatoire. In addition, I have a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) as well as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have been a Head of Music and Curriculum Leader for Expressive Arts in 2 highly successful schools in London.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that learning a musical instrument should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Therefore, lessons are flexible and tailored to the student’s needs, interests and aspirations which enables them to progress, achieve and enjoy playing. It’s never too late to learn so whether you are an adult interested in developing a new still, or a parent of a child who would like to learn an instrument, please get in touch!
*Please note £50 per hour is the price if you attend lessons at my home. If I travel, the cost is £60 per hour*
