Personal Description:

I have been playing Drums for thirty eight years. Drum kit for thirty two years and rudimental Pipe Band Snare drumming for thirty five years. I have recorded and performed with many different bands and artists over the years and have performed on radio and national TV several times. I studied drum kit with Paul Francis who is one of the UK's top drum teachers for over ten years.
I have been playing the bagpipes for twenty five years and have played in Pipe bands and solo at many different events throughout the years.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching Drum kit for over fifteen years and rudimental Pipe band Snare drumming for over twenty years. I am currently employed as a Music tutor at Rugby private School in Warwickshire. I have written two specialised books on beginner and advanced snare drum techniques and currently working on a third. I have performed workshops and masterclasses throughout the U.K.

I have been teaching bagpipes on a one to one private basis for over ten years.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons from my fully equipped teaching studio with two accoustic drum Kits. I teach all aspects of theory and practical drumming and Trinity Guildhall ( Drum Kit and Snare Drum ) and Rockschool Grades for students who would like to take graded examinations. I have a 100% pass rate for all students who have taken exams with all of them achieving Distinction or Merit. Lessons can also be structured to suit the specific needs of the student. I also offer tuition in Pipe Band snare drumming and Drum corps tuition. I teach the R.S.P.B.A snare drumming syllabus, but again lessons can be structured to help the student work on specific areas that need improving. I have a very enthusiastic approach to music tuition and my lessons are conducted in a relaxed, friendly environment. In 2005 I received an award from the Vic Firth Company for my contribution to Drum education.
