Personal Description:
Since graduating from Leeds Conservatoire with an Mmus in creative performance on flute, I have worked professionally both as a soloist and as part of orchestras and chamber ensembles.
I enjoy exploring and performing a huge rage of musical styles including contemporary music and jazz as well as more traditional classical works.
Additionally, I double saxophone and clarinet as part of pit orchestras and various function bands. I performs regularly as baritone saxophone for riot jazz group, Deadbeat Brass at venues and uk festivals.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching since 2008, during this time gaining invaluable experience working with both children and adults in a wide range of settings having worked as a peripatetic teacher for several years as well as teaching privately. Currently, I teach flute at Huddersfield University, Leeds Junior Conservatoire and with private clients both online and at my home studio.
I have taught from beginners right through to Diploma students including preparation for conservatorie auditions
as well as undergraduate performance students. My principal instrument is the Flute, with piccolo and low flutes however, I teach and play saxophone and clarinet.
I have also tutored performance skills towards a level on any instrument and voice.
Additionally, I offer grade 5 Theory tuition and A level and GCSE tutoring.
Tutoring Approach:
Lessons are tailored to individuals, working on a range of styles and techniques whether learning towards exams, auditions or for fun. With an emphasis on enjoyment!
