Personal Description:
Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 2019, with a Bachelor of Music, I am now a freelance professional musician and teacher. Former to studying at the Royal Academy, I studied at Chetham's School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music Junior department.
At at very young age, I began to learn the Recorder and Piano, both of which I gained Grade 8. Alongside this I developed a love of singing, and took part in many music festivals and various choirs. As I knew I wanted to become an orchestral musician, I took up the oboe at the age of 13 and this is where my musical interest blossomed.
At a professional level, I freelance across London orchestras and West End shows, on Oboe and Cor Anglais. I have performed at many prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall (BBC Proms), Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, the Barbican, Milton Court, to name a few. Furthermore, I teach at several institutions/schools in the state and private sector. I also teach private locally.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching for over eight years, both privately and in the most established independent & state schools across London, with pupils at many different levels, ages and circumstance. I also run several chamber groups, which gives me a well-rounded knowledge of all instruments.
I have taken my pupils through many exams; theory, piano, oboe and flute, all having had fantastic results (100% pass rate). Recent successes include 98% in Grade 5 theory and 96% in Grade 7 oboe. But I also teach people 'just for fun!', so can adapt to whichever you need.
Tutoring Approach:
Music has always been hugely influential and something I have felt a lot of passion for from a very young age. To even have a background in music is incredibly beneficial throughout life, and I find it thrilling how I can pass on my knowledge so that others can benefit this way.
I have fortunately received fantastic tuition from several world-renowned musicians, mentors, conductors and fellow professionals. I believe it is extremely important for a teacher to inspire, encourage, adapt and motivate their students, to ensure they look forward to lessons and can enjoy practising… as much as they can!
I try to keep lessons lighthearted and fun, whilst also pushing the pupil toward their maximum potential - I hope that my former students agree! It's really important to me to build a good rapport with my students, as it makes learning efficient and a pleasant experience.
From the world class education that I have received myself, and professional experience I have gained for over eight years, I have luckily picked up many tricks and tips about teaching the 'best'/most effective way and would love to carry on passing this knowledge to allow students to have a great time playing their instrument!

I booked some lessons here with Masie which were due to be on Tuesdays 4-6pm starting from July.
She had to cancel moving forward with these lessons the week before we were due to start.
Her reasons were health related so understandable which is why I can neither give a positive or bad review here. I wish her a speedy recovery.
She has been really flexible which was great when we were getting set up with the oboe.
