Personal Description:
I am a fifty something year old, outgoing person teaching from my family's home. My daughter(16)is around after school and my husband in the evening. We also have cats. I have been working with people in a rehabilitation centre in recent years and have developed a real passion for the use of the arts in improving mental wellbeing. Now I am trying to develop my business full time. I am open to teaching a variety of styles and to the young and not so young.
Tutoring Experience:
Alongside my work in rehabilitation, I have been teaching part time for the last 20 years. My pupils have been anywhere between 5 and 55 and I have taught mainly classical music but with some pop and jazz too.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is to help people find the music that inspires them and then teach them to play it! I am an informal person and teacher. It is most important to me that people enjoy what they play and see a good rate of progress. Whilst polishing a piece is important, so is momentum.
