Personal Description:

I am a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music with a BMus(Hons) in the clarinet having studied under Linda Merrick, Chris Swann and Antonio Salguero.

I teach all ages and abilities and teach mainly from my own home in Bolton, but do get in touch to see if I am working in your area.

Tutoring Experience:

I have 9 years experiene having taught for Bury Music Service, Cheshire West and Chester Music service and Loreto College, Manchester and on a private basis. I have experience in teaching Wider Opportunities, small groups, Flute choirs, Music Theory classes and individual lessons.

I currently teach for Lancashire Music Service, on a private basis and I also lead a ‘Singing for the Brain’ group for Alzheimer’s Society.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that enjoyment is the priority for music lessons and vary my lessons each week tailoring them to the individual students needs and interests. I teach a range of different genres to both develop the students musical exposure and in order to give the student the opportunity to find out which style of music they enjoy the most! I teach the ABRSM classical and jazz exam syllabus and I am a registered ABRSM teacher, however I do not enforce that the student take exams. I have a 100% Pass rate (with 90% achieving Merit and Distinction). I regularly review students progression and we work together to set short, mid and long term goals.
