Personal Description:

I first started playing bass in 2004, guitar in 2005, piano in 2007, and really took to developing my singing in 2013. I passed the Rock School Grade 7 guitar exam in 2007 and graduated from BIMM with a BA in Professional Musicianship in 2011. I have performed live hundreds of times and have extensive knowledge of music theory, achieving 96% on my undergraduate theory exam.
Tutoring Experience:
Ongoing music tuition experience in guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, and vocals starting in 2012. I help students attain graded qualifications (through ABRSM and Rock School so far).
Four years of English teaching experience in Japan.
Tutoring Approach:
I can offer multiple lessons a week and advise my students to have at least one. You may be entitled to a discount depending on travel preference and time slot. Free lessons for those who introduce another person. Finder's fee deducted from first lesson!
I believe teaching students from many different walks of life (primary school, secondary school, adults of all ages) requires a somewhat flexible approach; some students learn best by choosing their own goals and working towards them while others need more teacher-led classes.
I often present new musical concepts visually with explanations and colour coding and create my own practise exercises using sheet music created with Guitar Pro. Feel free to have a look at my uploaded materials.
I also have a webcam, top-of-the-range microphone, and video editing software for creating videos.

He is a great guitar teacher and we are very pleased we chose him.
My son is motivated to practice, really enjoying the lessons and already developing his skills and playing technique.
We would absolutely recommend Lloyd.
He was polite in his communication however last minute messaging regarding non commitment has been difficult to deal with. Request to confirm the dates and commitment from the tutor prior to paying the fee
