Personal Description:

I am a passionate musician who loves teaching music as much as playing, composing, and listening to it.
The most important thing for me is to encourage that same passion in my students by understanding different motives and different learning curves. I find it important to build the lessons equally around technique and interests of the student.
In my free time I practice classical music, blues, and jazz but have over 10 years of experience in playing different genres. I also spent the last 2 years travelling on cruise ships as part of a party band and as a solo pianist.

Tutoring Experience:

Since graduating university I have taught piano and music theory to young and old students with varying musical experience. I am confident teaching new starters as well as intermediate players who would like to pick it back up.

Tutoring Approach:

In addition to the standard format of grade exams, I feel that it is important to encourage the study of music outside of the curriculum. This creates a broader knowledge and understanding of differing performance styles and practices.
