Personal Description:
I am a student at the University of Manchester, studying for a BA in Music. I am classically trained and I received a distinction in my ARSM diploma. As a jazz keys player, I play in venues around Manchester and London. I am also composer, and I hope to continue this as my profession.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught students of a variety of ages and abilities, including young children just starting out and teenagers looking to move forward. I also ran choirs and the jazz band at my previous school, and I am now the piano accompanist for the University of Manchester Chorus.
Tutoring Approach:
I think that the approach to music tuition needed depends largely on the student. However, I try to encourage students to think about the musical content rather than just playing the notes. This develops overall musicianship and its much more engaging for the student!
