Information About Lawrence - Woodford Green teacher

Personal Description:

I am a guitarist with 15 years playing experience. I am very knowledgeable of many musical styles ranging from rock and pop, blues, metal, jazz and fusion. I studied jazz and contemporary music at degree level. Due to my time at university I also have a great knowledge of music theory and harmony, composition techniques and aural training.
I have experience playing in a range of different kinds of ensembles from acoustic guitar duos, jazz bands and big bands.
I have a great passion for anything musical and love passing on my knowledge to others.

Tutoring Experience:

I have five years of private tuition experience. I have taught students of many different levels from complete beginners to intermediate and more advanced players. I have experience teaching in person as well as online through Skype and Zoom.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in finding music the student enjoys and feels enthusiastic about playing to guide them in their first steps in learning the guitar. I will have beginner students learning their favorite songs in just a few sessions and make sure they always find the material I present them to be fun and exciting.
I understand taking the first steps in learning an instrument can be daunting and nerve racking so I always try to create a fun, enjoyable and constructive learning environment.
For more intermediate and advanced students I can provide them with different ways to approach their practice time from different technical and musical exercises to mental strategies to drive progress.
