Hello there,

Here is some information about my educational background:

- Started to play the piano at the age of 6 with Galina Starožicka and Elīna Bambāne, learning the traditions of the unique Russian school of piano playing.
- In 2004, at the age of 11, Ksenija has participated in the Latvian regional piano competition for junior schools of music and received 2nd prize.
- In 2007 she received 3rd place in the 3rd “Nova Musica” International chamber ensemble competition, as a piano trio member.
- At the age of 15, Ksenija has won the 3rd Latvian National Competition for Young Pianists in Balvi, Latvia. Later, she has participated in the International Tchaikovsky piano competition as a member of the piano quartet (Koknese, Latvia).
- Moved to London to begin her BMus at Goldsmiths College, the University of London to study piano performance with Andrew Zolinsky (Royal College of Music) under the supervision of Alexander Ivashkin (Moscow Conservatory), and Danny Driver (Royal College of Music).
- In 2016, Ksenija has begun her MA in Music Education and Piano Performance with Sergio de Simone at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
- In 2019 Ksenija completed her postgraduate studies in Education at Homerton College, University of Cambridge.
- In 2021 completed her MEd in Transforming Practice at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge.
- Moving to London, Ksenija has entered Goldsmiths College, the University of London to study piano performance with Andrew Zolinsky (Royal College of Music) under the supervision of Alexander Ivashkin (Moscow Conservatory), and Danny Driver (Royal College of Music). In 2016, Ksenija has begun her MA in Music Education and Piano Performance with Sergio de Simone at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Tutoring Experience:

Ksenija has extensive experience preparing her tutees for ABRSM, TC exams, Music Theory exams, concerts, festivals, competitions, as well as junior conservatoire auditions. Most recently, Ksenija has successfully prepared her pupils for Junior Guildhall and The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain auditions.

Ksenija teaches piano and music theory privately and at primary and secondary schools in London and Kent.

Tutoring Approach:

Generally, Ksenia enjoys blending different teaching methodologies and believes in the vitality of finding an efficient and effective combination of methods and approaches for each pupil in order to develop the skill of piano playing with enjoyment and love for the instrument.

Lessons can be arranged either at my home studio or at students' homes if living locally. I also offer online tuition via Zoom with professional gear for better sound and picture quality.
