Personal Description:

I am a professional bassoon player with formal experience teaching bassoon, clarinet and flute. I love helping my students find a learning style and goal that suits them personally. I believe learning an instrument can be fun no matter what your playing level or ambitions are, and I love finding creative ways to help my students make progress. I spend most of my time performing with professional orchestras across NI, Ireland and England. I studied at the Royal College of Music in London (BMus Hons & Postgraduate Degree).

Tutoring Experience:

My formal teaching experience includes: Ulster College of Music Belfast (current), Royal College of Music London 'Sparks' Programme, The Leys School (Cambridge), Hertfordshire Music Service, National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain (under 11's), Dartington Summer School (adult coaching)

I offer lessons on:
Flute (beginner Grades 1-3 only)
Saxophone (beginner Grades 1-3 only)
Clarinet (beginner to Grade 8 and beyond)
Bassoon (beginner to Grade 8 and beyond)

Tutoring Approach:

I support my students however they want to make music - for fun, as a refresh or with graded exams in mind (I have taught both ABRSM and Trinity). Graded exams would only ever be at the students request and not something I expect students to do. I believe learning an instrument can be fun no matter what your playing level or ambitions are, and I love finding creative ways to help my students make progress.

I have experience teaching all ages and abilities from children through to adults.

Lessons at my home or I can travel to you for an arranged small fee.
