Personal Description:
I work as a part time doctor currently and have many years of piano and violin teaching experience. I started learning the piano and violin at 5 years old and completed both my diploma examinations (including Grade 8 Music Theory) at young age. Hence, I am very familiar with the ABRSM syllabus.
I particularly enjoy working with beginner students and love to help them figure out suitable practice methods. All my lessons are tailored to individual needs and students are always encouraged to ask questions.
My music qualification includes holding a Master of Arts degree in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (violin as a secondary instrument). Previously, I was also Professor John Blakely’s private student, who was a piano professor at the Royal College of Music (now retired).
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching for more than 10 years.
I have experience working with special needs children and would be happy to work with non-verbal children.
Enhanced DBS check available.
Tutoring Approach:
My lesson plans are tailored according to individual needs and I believe that learning music should be an enjoyable experience.

Thank you.
My eldest daughter has a problem with confidence in her own abilities and was extremely nervous for her first lesson - I basically had to force her to go and she was so nervous she didn't eat much all day at all so I was so happy when half way through the lesson she herself mentioned in the conversation "when I come back next week can we do… ".
Rebecca is very softly spoken and very quick to pick up on what the pupil needs even when she hasn't read the text being used in the classroom. She was also very quick to confirm whether my daughter was currently due to take any specific exams/tests in the near future so that she could make sure that this could be addressed.
I would highly recommend Rebecca to anyone looking for an English tutor and I'm sure my daughter will be well on the way to an A in her Nat 5 in a couple of years time.
I definitely recommend her to anyone looking to learn the piano.
Rebecca is easy going and very friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed her teaching.
I really enjoy the sessions with her.
Rebecca is very easy going, has a lovely, pleasant nature and puts my daughter at ease all through the lessons.
I have no doubt that when they meet for their tutoring sessions Rebecca has fully prepared the lesson with much thought, care and professionalism.
As a result, my daughter has more confidence going into her exam and even feels/hopes she may do better in this subject now than her favourites. All due to Rebecca's tailored tutoring.
Honestly, I can't recommend Rebecca highly enough.
