Information About Kenneth - Kilmarnock teacher

Personal Description:

Kenneth is a professional accordionist and composer, with a passion for teaching. He focuses on developing and nurturing the creative potential of students, supporting them to achieve their personal goals. As an artist, he has performed, written, recorded and collaborated for a variety of solo, musical and multi-disciplinary works. This includes theatre, performance art and gallery-based sound installations.

Kenneth is based in East Ayrshire, Scotland - and extends his teaching assistance virtually to the rest of the UK. Kenneth is passionate about sharing his love for accordion, and welcomes students from all abilities, from absolute beginners to advanced students. His teaching style is highly adaptable to suit the needs of learners, encompassing technique, games and musicality.

Kenneth was inspired to play accordion from his grandfather and has been playing for 19 years. He is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (BMus Performance Hons).

Tutoring Experience:

I am the accordion + groupwork/musicianship tutor, as well as being the senior tutor for the Stirling Traditional Music Centre, run by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland - and have been teaching there for 5 years. I also teach privately across the UK (either in-person or virtually!).

Tutoring Approach:

Music is a wonderful thing to have in our lives, so I aim to make lessons fun and engaging in order to help nourish and develop a student's potential.

Once a strong foundation is developed, lessons over time will be tailored to suit the individual's needs so that students may follow their musical curiosity and utilise their creative potential to the fullest.

*Rates displayed are for hourly lessons (I also offer 30 min + 45 min). I am more than happy to travel to other parts of Ayrshire and Glasgow for a small fee.
