Hello! My name is Katie and I’m a passionate music teacher with expertise in singing, flute, piano, and music theory. With years over 12 years of experience in both performance and education, I love helping students of all ages unlock their musical potential. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, I provide personalized instruction to make learning music both enjoyable and rewarding.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over 12 years of teaching experience, tutoring a diverse range of students; from young children to adults, across a wide ability level, and including pupils with special needs and learning disabilities. These include 1-1 lessons, small group and whole class music lessons as well as conducting and rehearsing larger ensembles. As a peripatetic tutor, I always tailor my lessons to each individual pupil’s needs, as everyone has different learning methods which work best for them. I also prioritise the pupil’s own learning goals, ensuring they feel a sense of ownership over what we work on; be it progressing through the exam grades, preparing for concerts, or just improving their overall musicianship.

I tailor my lessons to suit each student’s individual pace and learning style, ensuring that they feel supported every step of the way. We will work on many aspects of your musicianship including, individual creativity, self expression, musical knowledge, technique, theory and more. Most importantly, I will make sure our lessons are fun!
