Personal Description:
I'm a professional, working jazz musician who can regularly be seen playing in and around London. I studied jazz Double Bass and Guitar at Middlesex University but am also a classically trained Violinist and have a great, in depth knowledge of music theory and music technology. I've performed at venues such as Ronnie Scott's and the Barbican and am soon to be releasing my debut album.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching privately for a number of years now and, more recently, have been working for Bromley Youth Music Trust and Croydon Music and Arts. I teach any age and any level, from absolute beginners to degree and beyond, having taught in Primary Schools and Universities, as well as to enthusiastic adults.
Tutoring Approach:
I firmly believe that anyone who can read, write and speak a language can read, write and speak music! I don't teach style but rather teach the tools necessary to gain fluency and technique on the instrument and to be able to play anything you please. I have had great success in the past by drawing parallels between music and other subjects (dance, art, science, language, etc) and am therefore sure that I can find a personal and tailored approach that's just right for you.
