Personal Description:

I am 29 years old and live in the centre of Sheffield. I am available for in-person and online lessons in both electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar, piano, voice, drums, music production and songwriting. I have been teaching music for over 10 years. I am currently working part-time in a music school based in Sheffield which has helped me develop my skills as a music tutor.

I specialise in contemporary & popular styles of playing. I enjoy learning/ teaching by ear and also using music notation. It doesn’t matter which instrument you choose to learn, I always like to teach the basics of Music Theory - as I believe it improves the way you play and helps you have a greater understanding of Music!

I am a very patient and understanding person. I am used to helping people who feel nervous and
try my best to install some confidence in them, through music!

I have also written and performed my own music over the years, having songs published on the record label Sony ATV and BDI Publishing.

Tutoring Experience:

Over the past 10 years, I have provided music tuition to people of all ages and abilities. It's great to watch students progress and develop a passion for music. Specialising in contemporary and popular music, I enjoy teaching music by listening & learning by ear however I also like to teach music notation and tablature.

It doesn’t matter which instrument you choose to learn, I always provide bespoke - individually tailored lessons to suit your needs. We can learn the basics on your chosen instrument and then progress to play your favourite songs. I will help you with your technique and give you all the tips you need to become a confident musician.

If you are interested in singing lessons, it's one of my favourites to teach! I love helping people sing more confidently and safely. Lessons usually start with a 15 - 20 minute vocal warm up and then we sing a song that can challenge you and give you things to improve on. I will help with belting any high notes that might seem more difficult than other notes, advising not to strain while singing and to breathe from your diaphragm. We will also work on your posture and how to project your voice.

Tutoring Approach:

First of all, I make sure my students are comfortable in lessons and don’t feel too many nerves or anxiety! Music lessons should be fun and be something the student looks forward to each week.

I have an engaging and interactive approach to teaching. I set listening & practicing assignments to help the students progress outside of lesson times. Most importantly, I try my best to share my passion for music.
