Information About Jonah - Camden teacher

Personal Description:

I am a drummer/composer of all styles, composer and arranger, producer and teacher. I’m an extremely passionate musician and have specialised skills in playing and composing original music and in performing improvised music, including free improvisation and jazz improvisation. I have recently graduated from London's Royal Academy of Music jazz course and have been playing and working professionally in a wide variety of genres and bands playing at some of London's top venues: Ronnie Scott's, Pizza Express Soho, the Vortex, 606 Club and the Troubadour to name a few.
As a producer/composer, I am skilled in music software such as Logic and Musescore notation and have produced and composed many of my own tracks as well as collaborating and working alongside others. I am a multi-instrumentalist with skills on piano, bass and guitar as well as percussion and have worked in a number of different genres and settings such as rock, pop, indie, folk, funk, jazz and soul/RnB.

Tutoring Experience:

Providing drum lessons to private students from beginner to advanced level.

Tutoring Approach:

I focus on key skills such as building a strong rhythmic foundation, groove-playing and can teach improvisation to a high level. I have recently received a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music which is a high-level teaching qualification.
I am also capable of teaching piano and bass guitar and have good skills on these instruments. Using my skills in arranging, I can arrange pieces specifically for each student’s interests and abilities, and will arrange their favourite songs/pieces to play in lessons.
