Personal Description:
Music conservatory trained musician and teacher of substantial experience.
Tutoring Experience:
Thirty years of piano and music teaching experience gained developing my private practice that I run from a purpose built studio in relaxed surroundings at my home.
I have taught AS and A level music at a sixth form college for ten years. In addition, I co-hosted the music theatre studies course there. I was also the college piano teacher.
I have taught Music at Key stage 2,3,and 4, and I work for Bedfordshire Music as a piano and keyboard teacher.
Tutoring Approach:
The mission of a good teacher as I see it, is for the teacher to act as a catalyst. A way pointing to the truth which you must help your student to find. This 'truth' will be in a different place for each student. The teacher must therefore find out what lies in the heart of his student and bring it out. The student will realise that this process is happening when they are inspired through music. It is at this point that amazing thing happen in a students musical process.
