Personal Description:
I am a Coventry Music Tutor. I have a well rounded experience in most forms of music, I play many instruments and perform and teach regularly. I am very enthusiastic about my subject and I take music seriously but i have a lot of fun playing music and encourage others to do the same. I play in a band, at open mics and like to stay involved with current happenings in music.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching music professionally for fifteen years and less formally for a long time before that. I tend to teach privately; individuals and groups. I usually teach in your own home . I have experience teaching to all sort of people and teach all sorts of styles to any requirement.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tuition is friendly and inspirational. I teach what the student wants to know and i suggest other material that suits. I teach not just the instrument alone but also the theory and performance skills. I have a wide range of musical influences and teach a lot of different styles. (Clasical, Folk, Jazz, Experimental etc)

Highly recommended
john
He was very patient making sure that I understood what was being taught to me.
I do try to teach what the student requires and try not to cloud the issues.
I have scored John 4/5. I have no doubt that he could easily score 5/5 - he has the theory and the personality needed for that. However, personally I needed two things that I didn't really feel came through this time.
Firstly, John can be a little whimsical (nothing unusual with a musician) but this meant I felt I wanted to be focused more tightly on tasks and exercises (in other words structure to my lessons) than I was able to get from each session.
Secondly, I'm not sure that John fully ensured I had the last exercise properly under my belt before we moved on to the next one. Not a disaster - it means I still have "homework" to perfect even a few weeks after my last lesson with him! (And what he has given me is very worthwhile - so much so, that in a few weeks I might travel back to Coventry for a "how did I do?" lesson.)
Summary
Would I use John again? - Yes - definitely
What should be done differently? - I would want to lead my teacher a bit better on what I want to get out of each lesson.
Footnote: I'm a trained Scuba Diving Instructor (so I have been taught how to teach). I'm also 51 years old, so possibly more demanding than a younger person. I do recommend John thoroughly - I just wanted to provide an honest opinion.
Good luck! :)
