Information About Jessica - Farnham teacher

Personal Description:

Hello! I am a passionate and driven musician with over 15 years of experience playing flute and studying music theory. I started playing at a young age, and went on to study my degree as a BA Actor-Musician at Guildford School of Acting. Whilst training, I also learnt the piccolo and alto saxophone. I have played with large orchestras, jazz bands, and in pit orchestras/bands for musicals in both regional spaces and London. I am also a singer, and enjoy performing in all different styles from pop, to musical theatre, to jazz.

Tutoring Experience:

I have had various experience teaching singing, musical theatre, piano, and flute, and have the accompanying enhanced DBS check. I also have lots of experience working with children in schools, and also as a performer doing birthday parties and holiday park entertainment.

Tutoring Approach:

The main thing about my teaching practice is fun! I want to make sure that each person that works with me comes away with a love of music, and a joy of their chosen instrument. This doesn't mean we won't work hard- it just means that my approach is lighthearted and will leave you with a quiet determination to develop your craft in a way that suits you. I am extremely adaptable too- if we try something and it isn't working, then that is ok! We will just try something else. Not everybody works in the same way and I enjoy getting to know my students to find out what works best for them.
