Personal Description:

I studied at the London College of Music obtaining their degree and teaching diploma, plus I have the Royal Academy of Music's diploma in accompaniment. I have worked extensively as an accompanist and perform regularly with my trio and piano duet partner.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching for over 20 years, all ages and abilities up to grade 8 standard. I currently teach in two senior schools as well as at my home. I prepare pupils for ABRSM exams as well as local festivals and pupils concerts. I also teach pupils who just wish to come for aural or theory lessons.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy teaching the ABRSM syllabus but don't insist on pupils taking exams. I like to work on scales, pieces and duets in the lessons and often make arrangements of pieces to suit pupils' different levels of playing. I am happy for parents to sit in on the lessons so they can see how their child is progressing and help them with their practise at home. I always try to find pieces for my pupils which will inspire them to rush home to the piano to play!
