Information About Jamie - Leeds teacher

Personal Description:

I am an experienced piano teacher, composer and performer. I have a music degree from York University and Post grad Diploma form Leeds Conservatoire. I am able to cover a wide range of musical styles and can offer improvisation in blues and jazz as well as classical, pop and film styles depending on the pupils needs. I offer a friendly and adaptable approach to learning the piano whether it be for pleasure, preparing and taking exams or learning a new style they have always wanted to learn.

Tutoring Experience:

Over twenty years teaching piano privately and with companies including Roundhay Music, Musicale, Hertfordshire Council, Artforms Leeds.
I have taught jazz(ABRSM grades) classical(ABRSM grades) from beginners to experienced players.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer a flexible and adaptable approach to teaching and always aim for maximum enjoyment and enthusiasm to help pupils gain confidence and passion for the instrument. Lessons can be tailored to a pupils needs , whether this is learning a classical piece for performance or understanding harmony and improvisation I always aim to go on a musical journey with each pupil to help them achieve their aims.
