Personal Description:
Hello! I'm a professional composer, jazz pianist, music director, and orchestrator. I read music at the University of Liverpool, specialising in classical and jazz piano performance and music theory, before winning a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I studied composition and conducting, graduating with an MMus (merit) and the Mary Ryan Award for Composition in 2018. I also attended the Guildhall School's jazz summer program as a pianist.
My music has been performed at Wigmore Hall, Milton Court Concert Hall, the Courtauld Gallery, London Contemporary Dance School, the Bloomsbury Studio Theatre, and Pleasance 2 Theatre (Edinburgh Fringe Festival). I have received commissions from University College London, British Youth Music Theatre, The Richmond Concert Society, Wildchild Productions and Oldham Theatre Workshop, and I also provide arrangements for the London Musical Theatre Orchestra. I am a professional writer associate of Mercury Musical Developments and a featured artist of Talent Unlimited.
While at Guildhall, I founded the Sundial Chamber Orchestra, with whom I conducted both world premieres and established repertoire. I was the conductor in residence of the Keele University Concert Band from 2015-16.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe that music is for everyone and that it is my duty as a teacher to adapt my approach in light of each student's strengths and idiosyncrasies, rather than mould them into what I think a musician should be. One student may be aiming for their grade VIII in piano or entrance to a competitive music school, while another might be a gifted singer who wants to accompany themselves. An aspiring composer may need counterpoint lessons, whereas a songwriter is keen to learn the basics of arranging. These individuals naturally require entirely different courses of study. I am particularly - though not exclusively - eager to teach those from unconventional musical backgrounds who may be new to formal music lessons.
