Information About Ivan Thomas - Dunstable teacher

Personal Description:

Hello!

I'm a guitarist and music producer based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. I'm a music producer and engineer working freelance in professional recording studios as well as the guitarist for the touring theatre productions Quadrophenia LIVE! and Tommy LIVE!

I enjoy many styles of music and have experience teaching Pop, Rock, Metal, Blues and Acoustic.

All lessons are currently online over Zoom due to COVID-19.

Tutoring Experience:

- 12 years experience teaching guitar privately from ages 5 - 75, as well as 2 years working for Front Row Music services delivering group guitar and ukulele lessons at primary schools.

- RockSchool Electric Guitar tutor with 100% pass rate.

- Previous course leader of BTEC Level 2 and 3 Music Technology at an Ofsted outstanding college.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe the ability to make music and to learn an instrument does not come from talent, but from finding a students interests and creating a personalised course to improvement and above all, enjoyment! When a student enjoys the material they are learning, they will practise and improve faster.

Music should be fun! This is what I strive for in all my lessons regardless of age or ability. From our first lesson together my aim is to find out your interests and goals and curate a course that is fulfilling to you!
