Personal Description:
I am a professional cellist specialising in historical performance and have always taught alongside my performing career as I enjoy both! I have lived and worked in Gloucestershire for 25 years.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching piano and bowed string instruments for 40 years to pupils of all ages and stages both privately and in schools. I also teach Baroque cello at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
Tutoring Approach:
I tailor my lessons and the material that I use to suit each pupil whether they are learning for the fun of it or working towards grades or college entrance (I am equally happy with either path).
My lessons are relaxed but I aim to give pupils the tools they need to work effectively by themselves to reach their full potential and strive to set them up with a good technique in order to achieve this.
If pupils have particular repertoire that they wish to learn I am very happy to accommodate this.
