Personal Description:
I am a 28 year old musician based in the Milton Keynes area. I graduated from music school in 2015 with a diploma in popular music performance with a focus on the guitar. I have also completed my Grade 8 exams in both instrument and theory. Since graduating I have worked as a songwriter for globally recognised artists, and have worked in other areas of the industry such as live performance and teaching.
I have been fortunate enough to work with globally recognised artists, and have also spent a lot of time working with exciting artists breaking through into the industry.
I enjoy teaching and have been doing so for around seven years now. I have also been teaching guitar at an evening school for the last three years, which has given me a great insight as to how different people like to learn. Please get in touch if you are interested in learning with me, we will find a way that works for you!
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching guitar and theory for about six years now. I have taught a wide range of ages and abilities, so it's highly likely that I have experience teaching someone who may have been in the same situation as you are now.
As well as teaching privately, I have been employed as a guitar tutor for an independent music school for three years now.
Tutoring Approach:
I'm very flexible with my approach to tuition. I understand that not everybody learns in the same way.
I think the grading systems are a brilliant way to progressively increase your understanding of the instrument and musical knowledge simultaneously. I would especially recommend this approach for younger students who are looking to start from basics.
However, I know that not everyone is interested in earning grading qualifications, and just want to learn how best to play your favourite songs. This is a good fun approach, in which you can improve your skills in a relaxed environment.
