Personal Description:
I am a keen musician and play in a number of local ensembles, performing regularly. Having had the opportunity to learn and play music from a very early age I am keen to teach others so they may share the same enjoyment. There is nothing quite like the comeradary, relaxation, sense of achievement and opportunity that music offers. It has and always will be a very big part of my life.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught beginner music theory, recorder, piano, and clarinet lessons for a number of years. I also still enjoy learning new instruments myself. I have taught advanced and intermediate clarinet, flute and music theory. I have successfully entered pupils for ABRSM exams in flute, clarinet, piano and music theory.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach will depend on the learning style, temperament and age of the learner. I like to challenge my pupils but also maintain motivation, enthusiasm, and a sense of achievement so that learning is fun and worthwhile and progress is made.
