Personal Description:
I'm a musician, composer, producer and educator based in North Leeds, having graduated from the Jazz Studies degree at Leeds College Of Music. Now offering online tuition as well as in person.
I teach clarinet, saxophone and flute as well as conducting bands/ensembles, running improvisation workshops and more. I also perform regularly across the UK and Europe with a variety of projects covering jazz, hip-hop, funk, electronic music and more.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been performing professionally for over 15 years and have over 10 years of teaching experience. As well as long-term placements at St. Aidan's CE High School and Harrogate Ladies' College, I'm currently teaching privately from home. I am equally happy teaching young children right through to adults, adapting my teaching style accordingly.
Tutoring Approach:
Lessons can cover everything from playing simple tunes of the student's choice, right through to jazz harmony and modes, improvisation, classical, composition, arranging. Music is something to be enjoyed and the focus is always on playing and having fun; however, progress is always tangible and I can guide students through all ABRSM and Trinity classical/jazz exams as appropriate. While improvised music is my main area of interest, the priorities of the student are always taken into account.
*I also now offer online tuition, please get in touch for more information.*

Having not played the saxophone properly for a number of years, Greg quickly established what I needed to work on to improve and also helped me with confidence in approaching how to play a piece of music. Greg just doesn't show you how, he takes the time to explain why something is like that. This makes reading music easier and therefore simpler to dissect when playing.
I am very confident Greg will be able to get me to where I would like to be and would highly recommend him to others whether that be from someone just starting to play or an experienced player.
