Personal Description:
I have been playing and singing traditional music from Ireland, Scotland and England for forty years. In addition to mandolin, tenor banjo and whistle I play and teach octave mandola, bouzouki (GDAE), tenor guitar and low whistle (unfortunately, these instruments do not appear on the list :o(.
Tutoring Experience:
I have worked in education for over twenty years, as a lecturer, tutor or researcher. I have worked in further, higher, adult and prison education, as well privately tutoring music learners, English and maths.
Tutoring Approach:
My 'approach' is really more of an attitude: I like to create a relaxed, friendly and encouraging learning environment, whilst simultaneously communicating (I hope) a passion for the music and the instrument.
