Personal Description:
Gavin started to learn the violin at the age of 10. At the age of 12 he was one of five young musicians chosen by the World Philharmonic Orchestra to receive a scholarship and an instrument. He studied the violin at the Hammond School in Chester and the Junior Royal Northern College of Music before being accepted at the London College of Music (LCM) to study a bachelors degree in Music Performance with Music Technology. During his time at LCM, he studied under Stephane Tran Ngoc and Dermot Crehan. He also studied conducting under Professor David Osbon (at LCM), Dane Lam (at RNCM) and taken part in masterclasses with Vadim Tchijik, John Mills, Jini Dinshaw, Achim Holub amongst many others and sat in a side by side rehearsals with the ECO. His career has involved performing in countries throughout the world with his first international debut occurring at the age of 12 with the World Philharmonic Orchestra in Paris. Since then Gavin has performed in India, United Kingdom, Belgium as a soloist. Venues include Brussel’s Cathedral, Duke of Westminster House, Houses of Parliament, Queen Elizabeth Centre II, and National Centre for the performing Arts (Mumbai). A versatile musician, Gavin is equally at home with classical, jazz, popular music, and has also taken part in various musical theatre productions. He has completed various recording sessions at Ealing Studios, BBC Elstree Studio, and Abbey Road Studios and at the London College of Music. During his career he also appeared on British and French **Contact Detail Removed**vision. He was featured on the documentary TV MEZZO: Portrait of This Young Musician, played on various live shows Top of the Pops, X Factor, and in the band for various upcoming pop artists.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been a teacher for over 5 years, helping students achieve high results in music grade exams. I have also given various workshops in various schools around London as part of the The Musicians' Company programme helping to promote music from a very young age.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to make my lessons fun and enjoyable whilst helping the students gain relevant knowledge and results. Most of my teaching is tailored to individual needs as every student is different.
