Personal Description:
I have been teaching students of all ages brass instruments for over 3 decades. From those just starting to more experienced players, students from 6 to 75 years of age have benefited from my structured yet relaxed approach to teaching.
Tutoring Experience:
I am currently teaching at Rougemont School, Newport (since 1992). Previously I was employed by Beaudesert Park School, Minchinhampton (2002 to 2024), Wycliffe College, Stonehouse (2008 to 2024), Christ College, Brecon (1992 to 2003), Malvern Girls' College (1994 to 2006), Malvern St. James (2006 to 2015) and was a tutor at the Junior Conservatoire of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (1996 to 2017). From 2008 to 2018 I was a Tutor for the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain.
Tutoring Approach:
Lessons are focused equally on enjoyment and improvement with a mixture of melodies and studies used to provide a varied repertoire. In each lesson, new music is introduced to encourage fluent reading.
