Information About Vincenzo - Hackney teacher

Personal Description:

At the age of 11 I started playing percussion in the orchestra of my home town city in Sicily.
During my years in the orchestra I learned music theory, solfeggio, the main drumming techniques and performing in front of others.
I bought my first drum kit in 1999 and started performing live in a rock covers band.
Two years later, I started studying drum kit performance at the Accademia di Musica Moderna in Palermo and Milan. Here I improved my drum techniques, coordination and independence; rhythmic reading and solfeggio; theory of popular music (jazz, funky, latin, blues, rock, metal, pop) and developing different drumming styles.
In 2003 I joined an original industrial band called Gemiti with whom I recorded two EPs and an album.
In 2009 I collaborated with director Italo Zeus for the composition and recording of the musical called “Mimi che la vita racconta”.
In 2011 I took the diploma in drum kit performance at the Accademia di Musica Moderna Milan before moving to London in 2013.
London has been the most productive period in my career;
I studied at the London College of Music, taking the 7 degree in drum kit performance in 2014 and in 2017 I took the 6 degree in Theory of Popular Music (theory of music, main knowledge of all popular styles of music including history, analysis, and comparison of the compositions).
During my years in London I have played hundred gigs and working as a session drummer.
I have recorded three albums with the original indie rock band, The Silver Bayonets, and two EPs with other bands (the hard rock band Hard Facade and metal band Sun Seth).
Playing in bands and teaching lessons throughout the years have helped me gain important experience in writing, composing, and recording music as well as sound processing, mixing and the audio production.

Tutoring Experience:

During my years in London I have delivered many in studio/online lessons and collaborated with a wide range of musicians.

I am specialised in Drum rudiments, drum Hand&Feet technique, Theory of Popular music, Rhythmic reading, solfeggio.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer DRUM LESSON ONLINE via skype or Zoom.
Since the lockdown started in London, I decide to go back to the drum studies that I have done many years ago, practising only with a pair of drumstick, a drum-pad, and metronome.
I can tell you those are the most efficient studies that permitted me to improve the hand&feet technique and my drumming.
Drum rudiments are the foundations. Dynamic, precision, timing, accents, velocity, agility, posture are the main benefits of practise them.
You don’t need to spend hours and hours, you can practise them even 20 min per day.
In my lesson I will show you how practise drum at home and keep fit, I will teach music theory and lecture rhythmic. Furthermore, the approach and comparison of drumming to the different styles of popular music.
Today, I am based in Barcelona. Where I continue play drums and teaching online or in drum studio.
