Personal Description:

I believe music is one of the most important skills to have, affecting and improving academic work, discipline and organisation skills whilst also being social and, of course, fun! I believe everyone has the potential to be musical and I use my enthusiasm for music and previous experience working with young musicians to encourage this in students. I am currently a freelance horn player in London, having studied my bachelors at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and spent a year and a half in Gothenburg studying at the Academy of Music and Drama. I also play piano to a high standard and have my grade 6 music theory.

Tutoring Experience:

I work as a private french horn and brass teacher in the south/west London area. I am also the brass tutor for All Saints Catholic College, Notting Hill.

I am enthusiastic about teaching music, and am adaptable to different levels, ages and learning styles.

Tutoring Approach:

I am patient and love teaching, I enjoy trying to find methods of learning for each individual student, encouraging my students to play socially (in orchestras, smaller ensembles, duets etc) and developing a sense of fun, rather than stress about performing. I achieve this through performance opportunities, such as (but not only) grades, as well as a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment. I teach not only the technical abilities required, but the wider picture of music.
Most of all I want my students to have fun and enjoy playing!
