Information About Elita - Woking teacher

Personal Description:

Elita has completed a BA Honours Degree in Vocal Performance at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Surrey. She studied with the likes of Jono McNeil (Michael Bublé) and Toby Drummond (Wicked, Billy Elliot). Being trained in all three disciplines of dance, drama and music, Elita is what is considered a triple threat in the performing arts industry. Elita studied Music and Performing Arts at College, performing in many music, dance and drama showcases. She was the lead vocalist for the college's Concert Band and sung for them in many public performances. Elita was also a student belonging to 'Jenny Reeds School of Dance' where she first trained as a dancer in ballet, tap, modern and character dance and performed in many dance showcases across Surrey. Elita has the most experience in singing and has performed Pop/R&B and Jazz repertoire as a Front Line Vocalist in venues and theatres across the South of England including GLive Theatre, The Electric Theatre, The Star Inn, The Rhoda McGaw Theatre, The Montaigne Theatre, Camberley Theatre and St Mary's Church. Elita has also performed in some of the most prestigious venues in the world including Old Trafford Football Stadium, ExCel London and Notre Dame Cathedral, (Notre Dame Senior School's most elite group of singers). Elita is also an avid songwriter and and poet who crafts emotionally charged lyrics surrounded by pretty melodies.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching singing privately and with a theatre school called Kidz Got Talent for over a year now and have developed my own style of helping my students reach their musical goals as well as having fun and enjoying their lessons. I have taught from aged 4-35 so have gained a wide range of different teaching styles depending on the age I am teaching. Many of my private students that I have taught have gained invaluable singing tools to improve their singing technique for a lifetime so that they walk away feeling more confident in their ability but also sure of their technique to pass onto others! I enjoy teaching people of all ages and enjoy getting to know what their vocal goals and aspirations are and being able to help them achieve that! I encourage all of my students with to practice regularly and reflect on how they are progressing and I have seen excellent results!

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate about singing and I believe that it is a great way of helping people grow in confidence and vocal ability. In a open, nurturing environment I am able to help my students develop their singing and help them achieve anything they put their mind to! I like to create an calm atmosphere in lessons to take the stress and nerves out of singing to help you to feel comfortable and relaxed. I want to work on whatever YOU want to work on! I a here to help YOU in you singing needs.

However if you are brand new to singing and you're not sure what you want to work on yet and want to learn the basics, I have a lesson plan that we can start off to see how you progress! I tend to start off my lessons by getting to know you first, a quick assessment of your voice involving talking about your vocal goals, what style you like to sing in, your vocal experience etc. Then we would do some warmups based off of that information and suited to your vocal type and ability. Then we start to would work on a part of a song I think would be good for your voice also asking for your preference.

As a singer I once took singing lessons and understand the nerves that can surround private music lessons. I am friendly, understanding and very patient and will go off of what you want like to learn and work on in class. I will guide you and train your voice to the best of your ability and help you achieve your musical goals!
