Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Elena, I'm a classically trained pianist, accomapnist and an experienced piano and music theory teacher. I have been playing piano for 22 years and I trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Trinity Laban Conservatoire. I’m currently a member of the PVG scheme.

Tutoring Experience:

I have nine years of experience in teaching children of all ages and backgrounds, ranging from nursery through to high school. I have extensive experience in teaching ABRSM Piano Grades and have taught in a wide range of settings including one to one lessons, evening and Saturday morning music schools as well as group piano lessons.
My previous accompaniment work includes ABRSM and Trinity Grade Exams, choir rehearsals, church services and concerts.
I am currently employed as a Music Graduate Assistant at St George’s School Edinburgh. As part of my position, I provide accompaniment for exams, concerts and rehearsals.

Tutoring Approach:

Although I am classically trained, I like teaching different styles of music dependant on what kind of music the pupil wants to learn (pop, rock, easy jazz, musical theatre, etc)
I am availbale to teach in person in London over the summer and online starting from September. I do a little bit of music theory with all of my pupils as I believe is greatly helps develop their understanding of music and its structure, however lessons dedicated to music theory are also available.
