Personal Description:
Hello! I completed my Masters degree in Violin Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2019. Before this, I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a first class degree in Music.
I love performing and have performed in many venues in a number of ensembles across the UK and Europe, including Cadogan Hall and the Royal Albert Hall.
I currently offer lessons in violin and music theory as well as individual support for academic music including the GCSE and A level syllabuses.
Tutoring Experience:
Violin Teacher, Sheffield Music Academy (Dec 2019 - present)
Violin Teacher, Private (Jan 2012 - present)
Graduate Musician, Oakham School (Sep 2016 - June 2017)
In Harmony Assistant, Nottingham Music Hub (Jan 2015 - May 2015)
In 2015, I spent time undertaking a placement at the Nottingham Music Hub where I taught whole class string lessons at a number of primary schools in the area. During this placement, I also helped tutor at the Robin Hood Youth Orchestra where I led violin sectionals.
In the 2017/18 academic year, I worked as the Graduate Musician at Oakham School. This was a live in position and I was responsible for teaching academic class music (KS2-A Level), offering one-to-one support with instrumental practice and preparing pupils for music theory and aural exams. I also, helped with a number of the schools extra-curricular musical ensembles such as orchestra, young strings and chamber orchestra.
Tutoring Approach:
I am able to prepare students for exams and recommend following the ABRSM syllabus if this is the case, but if you want to play for fun then lessons can be tailored to suit your needs. Whichever route you decide is best for you, I offer fun and motivational lessons and encourage regular practice outside of lessons in order for you to get the most out of your tuition.
I recommend weekly lessons which take place at my home in Sale.
