Information About Adam - Plymouth teacher

Personal Description:

I have a doctorate in Music (composition) and I am here to provide compositional help and guidance to people of all ages and abilities. I gained a PhD in Music (Composition) from Brunel University in 2019 and I have a wealth of knowledge in matters pertaining music composition including orchestration and instrumentation, theory, harmony, music history, analysis, historical approaches, notation and notation software (Sibelius) and contemporary music. I am also the drummer for a band based in London.

I currently live in Plymouth and am available for home visits or remote video consultations in the South West but I am in the process of moving to Witham, Essex before the autumn term starts. I will be available for home visits when I move to the South East but currently only available for remote video consultations in this region.

I have run group lessons with primary school aged children and also consulted with students studying for A Level Music

Tutoring Approach:

I have a laid back personality and I seek to guide and help students to achieve their goals without enforcing my own preferred aesthetic stances upon them. I will help you with the music you want to write and offer helpful tips and guidance so you can be the composer you want to be, but also challenge you and possibly offer a different perspective that you might not have considered.
