Personal Description:
Friendly and experienced guitar and bass tuition in the Halesowen area.
With over 20 years of full time tuition (Established in 1997 with the help of the Prince's Trust,) I provide friendly and experienced tuition in guitar and bass at competitive rates, either in person or live via Skype if you can't travel.
All ages and styles catered for, from beginners to advanced.
Prices: One hour £27, half an hour £15
I can prepare students for the Rock School exams and preliminary to grade 8 RGT exams.
I am a member of the RGT (Registry of Guitar Tutors) and have an enhanced DBS certificate (CRB check).
I have been teaching full time since 1997 and have been playing since 1984. I have been in many bands - original, covers and tribute bands, done various session work in the studio and live and was contacted by Ozzy Osbourne in 2005 when he considered me taking over from Zakk Wylde.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been a full time private tutor since 1997 and I teach from my home studio. I also provide live Skype lessons at the same price for those who can't travel to me and they work really well!
Tutoring Approach:
I ask what the student wants to learn and I go with that. I don't impose sight reading or anything else that the student doesn't want to learn. However, if someone wants to learn how to do their own solos and say they don't want to learn scales, that is when I insist on learning scales as it's a big part of learning what they want to do.
