Personal Description:

I am a professional musician, performer and composer with over ten years of active experience inside the music industry as a session musician, composer and performer, playing drums for two signed, international touring acts as well as a range of different tribute and cover acts.

My latest work charted in two top ten positions consecutively on Billboard's rock and new artists charts and I am actively writing and working with different artists aiming for charted record positions. I specialise in drums with thirteen years playing experience, but also have 6 years experience on both piano and classical guitar.

Tutoring Experience:

Teaching drums since 2007 and have since moved on to include lessons for composition and music theory.

I have taught students as young as eleven and have had years of experience in nursing pupils through the beginner stages as well as working with advanced students in the application and refinement of specific techniques.

I have taught several younger students through the Rockschool syllabus.

I regularly teach music theory lessons over Skype as well as in person also.

Tutoring Approach:

As a teacher, I provide the guidance necessary for my students to understand and articulate their own ambition and relationship with music as a subject and then to help them understand their own goals and ensure that they achieve them. This also involves cultivating a relationship with music that is fulfilling and inspiring. This includes teaching students how to engage their own creativity and how to enjoy performing without fear and tension so that their ambition begins to feed itself and carry them to the top.

Having a teacher with a modern understanding of contemporary music and a dynamic and active relationship in the music industry allows me to offer grounded and practical guidance for my students at any level of their musical ambition including: live performance; music technology and equipment; marketing and promotion; social media campaigning; record contracts and artist management in order to ensure they have everything they need to create and deliver their act.

Each of my students recieves original lesson content and materials covering any topic covered in lessons as well as a personal learning diary and homework assignments all of which are designed to ensure that their practice time is spent intelligently and that they are moving consistently in the direction that they want to go.
