Personal Description:

I have been playing the harmonica for about 48 years now. I was taught by my father aged 10 years. Played semi-professional aged 12 years. I still perform with my father as a harmonica duo, and play with bands. I have been involved in session work and recordings for other artists.

Tutoring Experience:

The harmonica tutorial resources I have produced are a step by step guide to help you become familiar with the instrument and learn you to play tunes. The workshop is tailored for someone who has little or no experience of playing the instrument, and are suitable for any age groups and abilities. I have delivered my harmonica workshops for children and adults with special needs. Advanced techniques on the harmonica can be included in the lessons for the more accomplished players.

Everyone should have access to a musical instrument.The harmonica is a versatile little instrument that evokes the voice. My personal approach to music tuition is always to have 'fun' My harmonica workshop helps students to understand where the notes are on the instrument, with the objective of learning to play tunes. The harmonica itself is an instrument that should be freely explored by each student to creative their own individual sounds and discover what an expressive instrument the harmonica can be.
