Personal Description:
I studied piano from the tender age of 5 in Sydney, Australia. I matriculated to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as one of ten pianists to be selected nationally to study a BA Music (piano major). I studied under Enid Snowdon and George Humphrey, and vocals under Australian opera singer, Grant Dickson. I became a qualified music teacher before matriculation when I completed my A Mus A Diploma (AMEB: The Australian Music Examinations Board).
I am also an alumnus of several choirs, which I also accompanied and arranged music for on occasion (i.e. the Hellenic **Contact Detail Removed**com Choir), the Brisbane Concert Choir, and the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. As a young chorister I sang alto a capella in an award winning madrigal group that won top 3 positions in several Eistedfodds in Sydney, Australia. But let's fast forward now… An experienced educator, I have composed music (and recorded the CDs) for 2 children's educational series of English language books.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught keyboards at all levels and coached vocalists for choir auditions and performances both in Australia and Greece.
I am an experienced accompanist/repetiteur and have helped performers to prepare for performances in musical theatre.
My post graduate studies in education (University of Cambridge Diploma in teaching adults ESL), Information Technology (University of Canberra) and digital media at (University of Technology of Sydney) mean that you get a well-rounded, interactive, technology-enabled learning experience. Put simply, I draw from various disciplines to enrich your lessons, whether you are an amateur looking for a way to de-stress through music or an ambitious student looking for an holistic teacher.
Tutoring Approach:
From Baroque to classical music, romantic to contemporary and pop/rock/jazz, swing, soul and country, I can tailor your lessons around your interests and needs. I help you to improve your aural skills, sight singing/reading, music theory and help to build your confidence.
ONLINE: With a plethora of platforms and activities to choose from, join me and other students for monthly group lessons online for a more interactive, fun experience!
