Personal Description:

I am originally from Aberdeenshire but have stayed in Glasgow for 24 years. I graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2004 with a BA Scottish Music degree and more recently, in 2023 I received a Post Graduate Certificate inn Learning and Teaching in the Performing
I teach privately, tutor for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland outreach projects, and various community projects, and I am the author of a violin tutor book.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over two decades experience in music education: both privately and employed as a music tutor for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Junior projects, teaching Violin, Scottish Fiddle, Musicianship & Ensemble orchestras.
Priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons are tailored to suit individual needs ; many of my pupils choose to sit ABRSM exams, gaining merit & distinction grades; many choose to learn to improve their technique and repertoire, some compete in music competitions.
I have pupils of all ages, backgrounds and needs.

Tutoring Approach:

Everyone is a different and learns differently. I teach pupils to read music, or if the prefer can be taught by ear. I'm pretty easy going and adaptive so we can usually find an approach to work for each individual.
I find learning successfully usually occurs if pupils are enjoying it. I try to find repertoire to suit each person, and provide performance opportunities to grow confidence in playing.
Daily practise is recommended.
