Personal Description:
I am passionate about music making and teaching & enjoy singing and playing a number of instruments in different contexts. I particularly enjoy encouraging my pupils to believe in themselves and want to inspire them
Tutoring Experience:
I started teaching piano and violin in 1990 and have taught up to Grade 6 on violin and piano but have also had pupils who are not keen on exams. I can also teach the ABRSM jazz early piano grades. I have managed to switch all my private teaching to online tuition so I’m happy to continue as an online tutor if needed.
Tutoring Approach:
As a trained Primary and Special Needs teacher, I aim to make lessons fun and enjoyable. I am also keenly aware of how different students learn and so will adapt my approach to suit each individual pupil and their needs. I recommend technology and apps to aid learning where appropriate and am pleased that these are being developed continually. I am also a qualified and practising Music Therapist
