Personal Description:
Hi, I’m Chris! I am a drum teacher, entrepreneur and professional musician. Teaching music has been my main passion since I started my first classes in 2005. I have been building and running music schools since 2012 which I absolutely love, but I have always maintained a small group of private students, many of which have been with me for over 10 years. Recently a few of my long term students have gone off to university so I have a few slots available for passionate students who want to grow and develop real skills and proficiency. Whilst the drums are my main instrument I also teach guitar, bass, ukulele, piano and music production to an intermedia**Contact Detail Removed**vel.
Alongside my teaching I am also an active musician, having clocked over thousand gigs, built a social media following of 50k followers and released music with multiple bands. I have always believed that the best teachers are the ones who are out there doing it, sharing their passion and building an audience doing what they love. Isn't that the dream?
Tutoring Experience:
Here’s a little bit about my teaching experience, students and qualifications.
Teaching & my students
- Taught over 1,000 students (1:1, small groups and masterclasses)
- Students have gone on to perform at Wembley, the O2 and the West End
- 100% pass rate for students sitting grade exams
Qualifications
- Grade 8 (distinction) in drums
- First-Class BMus (Hons) in Popular Music
- Level 4 Music Teaching Diploma
Tutoring Approach:
One to one lessons should always be about you, the student. Everything that gets covered in your lessons will reflect your goals, dreams and ambitions - not mine! Whether you want to work towards grade exams, jamming in a band with friends, performing on stage or just playing for fun, I’m here to get you there.
Being a great educator is about helping the student develop the tools to teach themselves - no matter what age or ability. I will teach you the skills, based on my knowledge and experience, so you are able to learn all your favourite songs quickly and effectively. While my approach is goal oriented, there is a strong emphasis on making sure each lesson is fun, exciting and engaging. That’s the point of music in the first place!
I appreciate that my approach is not traditional and isn’t for everybody. This is why I’m happy to provide a free session to ensure compatibility before having to commit to regular lessons. I’m also happy to provide a full refund if at any point you are unhappy with the first set of lessons - no questions asked.
