Personal Description:
My name is Carine and I am a music educator and music therapist.
I graduated from an MA in Music Therapy at the Guildhall School of Music in 2010 and I completed my undergraduate BSc Music and psychology degree at the University of Leeds in 2007. Before moving to the UK I studied at the Conservatoire de Musique de la Ville de Luxembourg.
I work as a music therapist, workshop leader, and music educator. I have extensive experience in private teaching and for many years I have worked as an instrumental teacher for the Hammersmith & Fulham and Lewisham Music services, teaching violin and viola, both in individual and group settings and leading larger ensembles of beginner string players.
Please get in touch for more information if you wish to enquire about music therapy. Separate rates apply.

Tutoring Approach:
Whether you’re looking for starter violin lessons for your child, or just a change of teacher, if you are an adult wanting to start something new or to take up the violin where you left off years ago, then you’re in the right place!
For the ambitious, teaching can be exam orientated (ABRSM grade exams), or more relaxed and simply for the pleasure of learning and studying music. The lessons are tailored to each pupil’s individual needs and ambitions and great care is taken to create an encouraging and motivating atmosphere in order to achieve the best possible results. Lessons usually last 30 or 60 mins and fees are arranged accordingly.
The violin lessons focus on the practical side of playing the instrument but will also cover all the basic elements of general musicianship and theory which is essential to becoming a rounded musician and learning about music in its fullest sense.
Violin lessons can be taught in English, German, or French and lessons for children and adults with special educational needs are available.
