Information About Calum - Glasgow teacher

Personal Description:

Based in Houston, Scotland, I teach both here and in Glasgow city centre. I have obtained 2 vocal diplomas: DipABRSM & LTCL. I also have Grade 8 singing and many other major awards from european committee of festivals. I have performed with many musical theatre companies playing principal roles in Glasgow theatres and am now playing roles with Scottish Opera. I have sang with BBC Young Singers in London and put on many concerts in the Glasgow area. I specialise in classical singing including opera and musical theatre but also can teach various different styles. I've performed in many venue across the UK and have held various concerts/recitals.

Tutoring Experience:

I have conducted classical choirs and have taught many school pupils at local schools. I also have taught a wide variety of students at all levels.

Tutoring Approach:

Music tuition should be viewed as a fun experience but also be an experience that the pupil gets a lot out of . The pupil's vocal style should increase dramatically over the first month and there on in, they can enjoy building up a repertoire or preparing for ABRSM /trinity / school exams. The voice is definitely an instrument which needs both commitment and enthusiasm to enhance your vocal style. Once the basics have been taught, it is just a case of enhancing your voice by learning various repertoire ranging from eg. operatic arias, jazz numbers, songs from the shows, oratorios, art songs and much more!
