Personal Description:

Hi! I am a professional saxophone player teaching in Woking. I've done music since the age of 5 and totally love it. Some of my career highlights include playing on cruise ships, recording a jazz album and playing on a festival stage.

Tutoring Experience:

I've been teaching all ages and abilities since I graduated. I have taught at several schools as well as in my own home. My track record with examinations is very good - all my students have passed their exams and many received distinctions.

Tutoring Approach:

I have two aims in my lessons: progress and fun. I believe that everyone can learn to play music, whether or not they think they are "musical"! Each session will be challenging but hugely rewarding. I do a bit of everything: technical work, reading music, improvising, playing by ear and theory. In my experience this creates a well-rounded musician who knows what they're doing and why. It also makes for independent learners who can eventually do what they want with music without a teacher's help.

We can prepare for exams or keep it relaxed. I currently teach in Woking. All abilities welcome. Because the saxophone is a heavy instrument, I only teach ages 12 and upwards to ensure that my students have developed the core muscles necessary to hold the sax without damaging themselves over time.
